An Affirmation

 

Yes!    It was I who started the trend.

It was I, La Palabra.

It was my soul, my rhythm, and her Beauty...

It was love at first sight!

A love that turned into a Romance.

A Romance that started a love affair.

A love affair that gave birth to a beautiful child.

A child that we now call "Salsa Romantica."

I have not been recognized for my historical

contributions to salsa. 

Nor was I given credit

for giving salsa a new light.

But... just like the sun comes out every morning

and makes everybody see,

my dream is that one day the light

will shine down on me

And that my name will be added

to the list of people

that have in one way or another

made this world a little brighter.
